Elden Ring Official Discord

Bandai Namco's official Discord for Elden Ring and Nightreign — LFG, co-op, and announcements

FreeEssentialOfficialBeginner

What it is

It's the official ELDEN RING Discord, run by Bandai Namco and FromSoftware. Launched shortly after the game's 2022 release and since extended to cover Elden Ring Nightreign, the 2025 spin-off, as well. It has 500,000+ members and is organized in clusters: general lobby, platform LFG (PC / PS / Xbox), per-boss discussion, lore, builds, fashion souls, modding, and an announcements channel where Bandai posts patches and events.

Moderators are a mix of Bandai community managers and trained volunteers. Community managers occasionally post about official events, surveys, and previews.

What it solves

Finding co-op partners in vanilla Elden Ring can be frustrating: native matchmaking is restrictive by level and area, invasions cut sessions short, and the password system requires coordinating outside the game. The official Discord centralizes all of that in an LFG channel with per-platform, per-boss, per-level threads.

It also solves the official-info problem: Bandai's announcements about events, charity streams, balance patches, and Nightreign cross-promo show up here first, before external channels.

What people use it for

LFG for vanilla co-op: post your platform, level, and boss in the matching thread; other players respond with passwords.

LFG for invasions: dedicated PvP channels — Colosseum duels, invasions, gankers, fight clubs.

Builds and fashion souls: share screenshots of your Tarnished, ask for opinions on stat allocation, see what's running in the current patch meta.

Official announcements: catch patches, events, free weekends, and new merch without going through Twitter/Reddit.

Nightreign cross-promo: since the server covers both games, there are separate but coordinated channels between ER base and Nightreign.

Who shouldn't use it

If you only play single-player and aren't looking for co-op, the Discord doesn't add much — game content isn't discussed in as much depth as on r/Eldenring.

If you're after technical modding discussion (mod conflicts, custom servers for overhauls like ELDEN RING Reforged), the mod-specific Discord is better — the official server keeps a "vanilla and supported configs" line.

If your main platform is console and you play offline, the channels won't add value — they're mostly PC + online.

How it's used in practice

  1. Click the invite link (discord.com/invite/eldenring).
  2. Accept the server rules in the #rules channel (reaction-based verification).
  3. Pick your platform via the role-picker (PC / PS5 / Xbox / Nintendo doesn't apply).
  4. For LFG, head to your platform channel and post in the boss or area thread where you need help.
  5. Other players respond with a matchmaking password; use that same password in-game with your Furlcalling Finger Remedy.
  6. For PvP, separate channels with their own rules (no twink, fair fight, etc.).

If you play Nightreign too, the matching channels are under the Nightreign cluster — accessible from the role-picker.

Honest limitations

Limited official info: Bandai posts patches and events but doesn't run AMAs or reveal balance changes ahead of time. For deeper technical discussion, r/Eldenring is still richer.

High noise: with 500K+ members, general channels scroll fast. For specific questions, threads or the "noob questions" channel have less noise.

Strict spoiler rules: good or bad — depends. The server has separate "post-game spoiler discussion" channels and mods ban spoilers in general channels with little tolerance. If you just finished, you have to find the right channel.

Not a mod-distribution hub: discussing PC mods is tolerated but not actively promoted. For community modding, the specific Discords (ERR, Convergence, Seamless Co-op) are better.

How to start

  1. Click discord.com/invite/eldenring.
  2. Accept rules and complete the role-picker (platform + language).
  3. Read #welcome to map the server.
  4. For immediate co-op, head straight to your platform's LFG channel.
  5. If you play Nightreign, activate the matching role to see those channels.
