What it is
Card Plaza is HoYoverse's official tool dedicated to Genius Invokation TCG, the card game integrated within Genshin Impact. The TCG was introduced in 2022 and has its own meta, decks, events, and community — Card Plaza centralizes all of that in an official interface.
It lets you build complete decks (3 character cards + action support), browse decks published by other players with their wins/losses stats, see popular matchups, read official strategy guides, and stay up to date with balance changes HoYoverse applies to the TCG (independent of the main game).
It's web-based, free, supports HoYoLAB's 15 languages.
What problem it solves
Genius Invokation TCG has a steep learning curve: you need to understand Elemental Resonance between cards, energy management, character switching, action timing, equipment cards. For someone starting, the depth is intimidating — and building a competitive deck from scratch requires familiarizing yourself with hundreds of cards.
Card Plaza solves this by centralizing learning resources and deck-sharing. Instead of searching for scattered guides on Reddit or YouTube, everything is in an official hub with the advantage that decks are synced with the current TCG version (not old decks no longer viable).
What people use it for
Learning the TCG from scratch: for someone who never touched the card game, Card Plaza has official beginner-friendly tutorials and deck-builds. Clear entry point without risk of outdated info.
Copying competitive decks for PvP: the TCG has PvP matches in special events. You browse Card Plaza for high winrate decks and replicate. Saves hours of own iteration.
Finding specific decks to counter boss runs: the TCG has PvE content where you need to defeat NPC bosses with specific builds. Card Plaza filters decks by boss target.
Sharing your own deck for feedback: you build an experimental deck and post it on Card Plaza with strategy description. Other users comment, suggest changes, or your deck reaches "trending" if it works.
TCG meta tracking: since the TCG has balance patches, the meta changes. Card Plaza shows which decks are rising in winrate and which fell. Useful to not be behind the meta.
Who this isn't for
If you don't play Genius Invokation TCG, Card Plaza is useless to you — it's not relevant for Genshin's main gameplay (exploration, combat, abyss). If you only play the TCG casually without wanting competitive, you can survive with YouTube guides without touching Card Plaza. If you want extreme strategic depth with mathematical analysis of probabilities, there are TCG-specific community tools with more depth.
How it's used in practice
Go to Card Plaza from HoYoLAB → Tools → Card Plaza (or direct URL).
To build a deck: click "Create Deck". You see interface with card search. Pick 3 character cards + up to 30 action cards. The tool validates the deck is legal.
To browse decks: filter by context (PvP, PvE, specific boss, beginner-friendly). Sort by winrate, popularity, or recency.
Clicking a deck shows you: complete card list, author's strategy description, other users' comments, performance stats (author's winrate with that deck).
If you like a deck, click "Copy Deck Code" and import directly into Genshin with a code you paste in-game.
(Optional) You publish your own deck with description and strategy. If it generates traction, it reaches "trending".
Honest limitations
Only relevant for a niche game mechanic. Genius Invokation TCG is side content. Most Genshin players don't play it seriously. If you don't play it, this tool is invisible.
TCG learning curve is high. Card Plaza doesn't compensate that — it only organizes resources. If you don't understand basic TCG mechanics, no deck-builder will help you until you study first.
TCG meta is relatively static. HoYoverse balance-patches the TCG less than the main game. Sometimes the same decks dominate for months, which reduces the utility of "meta tracking".
Variable quality of published decks. Anyone can publish a deck. Trash mixes with gems. Filters by winrate help but don't fully solve.
Inconsistent localization in descriptions. The interface is in your language, but strategy descriptions written by users can be in any language. The TCG's English-speaking community is medium-sized; smaller languages have less.
TCG PvP events are sporadic. If you expect competitive PvP always active, you'll be frustrated. The TCG's competitive part lives in limited events, not 24/7.
How to get started
First: confirm that you play Genius Invokation TCG. If you've never opened it in-game, this tool doesn't help you until you learn TCG basics (there's an in-game quest that teaches you).
If you already play the TCG: go to act.hoyolab.com/ys/event/bbs-lineup-qskp/index.html with your account logged in. Start by browsing "Beginner Decks" or "Trending" to see what's strong now. Import a deck to your game (copy-paste code) and try it in Casual Match against NPC to understand the rotation.
For recurring use: when TCG PvP events launch, Card Plaza is the first stop to see what decks are winning that specific event. It saves you doing your own iteration from scratch.
