Probuilds.netvsU.GG

Two different ways to answer what to build in League of Legends: the recent real matches of professionals on Probuilds.net versus U.GG's aggregated, rank-filterable dataset.

Category: Pro buildsLast verified: June 3, 2026

Verdict

Probuilds.net to see what pros actually built in their recent real matches, especially on freshly shipped patches where aggregated data hasn't stabilized yet. U.GG for the optimized build for your rank, with runes, counters, and tier lists in a clean view. Most players live in U.GG and open Probuilds.net only to get ahead of the meta.

Which to use for what

  • Know what to build on a champion for your rankBetter pick: U.GG

U.GG aggregates millions of games filterable by rank and role, while Probuilds.net only shows Challenger builds that don't always scale.

  • Get ahead of the meta in the first days of a new patchBetter pick: Probuilds.net

Probuilds.net shows what pros are experimenting with hours after each match, before U.GG's aggregated data accumulates enough sample.

  • Study runes, counters, and your role's tier list before playing rankedBetter pick: U.GG

U.GG concentrates builds, importable runes, matchups, and tier lists in one place; Probuilds.net does no counter analysis or tier lists.

Both answer the question "what do I build on this champion", but from different source data. Probuilds.net aggregates the recent matches of hundreds of manually-tracked pros and indexes their builds by champion: you see what a specific player chose in a real match. U.GG computes the optimal current-patch build over millions of aggregated games and presents it with runes, counters, and tier lists in a clean view. Most players use U.GG as a daily reference and open Probuilds.net for specific cases.

Data source

  • Probuilds.net: individual pro builds from recent real matches (items in order, runes, summoner spells, KDA, duration). It doesn't average: each entry is a concrete match by a concrete player. The source is Riot's API, and each new tracked-pro match appears within hours.
  • U.GG: an aggregated build computed over millions of games, filterable by rank (Platinum+, Diamond+, Master+), role, and patch. It doesn't tell you what Faker did; it tells you what works statistically at your rank.

The distinction matters because of Probuilds.net's central editorial caveat: what works in Challenger doesn't necessarily scale to your elo, since pros play with coordination and mechanics 99% of the player base lacks. U.GG avoids that bias by filtering to your own rank.

Scope and depth

Probuilds.net does one thing and does it completely: pro builds by champion, with filters by role, league, and player. It has no counters, tier lists, or analysis of the "why" behind each choice.

U.GG is broader. Beyond builds it includes OP.GG-style match history, per-matchup counters, tier lists by role and rank, statistics, and its own Probuilds section — though its pro base is smaller than a dedicated site like Probuilds.net. It also offers an optional desktop app that imports runes directly into the client during champ select.

Neither one explains the statistical reasoning in depth; for that both point to Lolalytics.

Languages, UX, and monetization

  • Probuilds.net: English only. Legacy UX (dense, no animations, poor mobile) that feels 2014-vintage. 100% free, no paid tier, sustained by heavy ads.
  • U.GG: multilingual (English, Spanish, Korean, French, German, Portuguese). Modern, clean UX, its historical differentiator against legacy sites. Free at the core, with a Premium tier (~$3/month) that removes ads and unlocks filters; the site pushes the subscription with popups, but the free version covers nearly everything.

Which one?

  • Optimize your build for your rank → U.GG. Filter by rank and role; Probuilds.net only shows the top 0.01%.
  • Get ahead of the meta in a patch's first days → Probuilds.net. Pros experiment before U.GG's aggregated data accumulates sample.
  • Check runes, counters, and tier list before ranked → U.GG. All in one place; Probuilds.net does no counters or tier lists.
  • Study a specific pro or copy their style → Probuilds.net. Filter by name and see their pick rotation and builds.
  • Compare how different leagues build (LCK vs LEC vs LPL) → Probuilds.net, which indexes by league and region.
  • You want Spanish and a decent mobile experience → U.GG, for its languages and modern UX.

They're complementary: U.GG as the daily reference for what to build at your rank, Probuilds.net as a window into the competitive meta when a patch just shipped or when you want to see what a pro did in a concrete match.
