What it is

Eorzea Collection (ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com) is an online glamour catalog for FFXIV. Users post complete builds with in-game screenshots taken with good lighting, careful angles, and poses. Each build comes with a detailed list of every piece used (head, body, hands, etc.) plus exact dye color and item links.

Features:

  • Browsable catalog: explore by job, race, gender, gear tier.
  • Granular filters: by job (all DoW/DoM/DoH/DoL), by race (Au Ra, Viera, etc.), by gear ilvl, by color theme.
  • Builds by user: each glamourist has a profile with their builds, followers.
  • Item info: each item links to its Lodestone entry or equivalent.
  • Voting / favorites: users vote, popular builds climb the ranking.

Free, no login required for browsing. Login for posting or following users.

What problem it solves

FFXIV has a robust glamour system but no source of truth nor pretty official catalog. Deciding how to dress your character requires:

  1. Knowing what pieces exist and how they look (Lodestone listings have images but not in-context).
  2. Visualizing the final combination (color matching, race/gender differences in how armor drapes).
  3. Knowing where each piece is obtained.

Eorzea Collection solves this by aggregating community contributions:

  • Each build shows the complete outfit with high-quality screenshot.
  • If you like one, you immediately see the items list + exact dye.
  • Filters let you browse by theme: "fantasy elegant", "ninja stealth", "casual modern".

For players who invest time in glamour (a significant portion of the audience), it's the daily tool.

How it differs from FFXIV Collect

  • Eorzea Collection: visual catalog of user-curated builds with screenshots.
  • FFXIV Collect: tracker of your personal collection — what mounts/minions/achievements you have vs the game's totals.

EC is inspiration and discovery. FFXIV Collect is accounting of your progress. Complementary, different. Both popular for different use cases.

What people actually use it for

Glamour inspiration: bored of your char's current look. Scroll EC, save builds you like, recreate.

Verify how an item looks: about to craft a new piece. How does it actually look in game? Search EC for builds using it.

Dye color matching: like a dye combination you saw on EC. Copy the exact setup.

Race/gender comparisons: armor drapes differently on each race. EC has builds for multiple races; you can compare.

Community trends: what's in fashion this patch? Most-voted recent builds tell you the zeitgeist.

Who it's NOT for

  • Pure combat focus: no combat here. EC is 100% glamour.
  • Casuals without interest in fashion: if your char wears default tank set without thinking twice, EC adds nothing.
  • Anyone wanting official SE screenshots: EC is community. For official SE art, go to press kits or Lodestone.
  • Anti-vanity gamers: if glamour feels like a waste of time, EC isn't for you.
  • PvP players: PvP gear is separate from PvE glamour. EC focuses on PvE.

How it's actually used

  1. Go to ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com.

  2. Top filters: job, race, gender, gear tier. Filter for what you want.

  3. Browse the grid of builds. Each thumbnail is a screenshot.

  4. Click one for the detail page: pieces list + dye colors + author.

  5. To save: login and "favorite" the builds you like.

  6. To recreate in-game: go piece by piece, get them (drops, market, vendor), and apply dyes.

  7. To post your own: login and "Submit Build" with screenshots and item list. Other users vote.

Honest limitations

Inconsistent quality: as user-generated, some builds have excellent screenshots and others mediocre ones. Filter by popular if you want consistent quality.

Recurring meta limited: posted builds tend to recycle the same popular pieces. Real variety exists but you have to dig.

Ads (paywalled premium for adfree): the site has ads. Premium subscription removes them. Adblock works but the site asks you to disable it.

No tracking of your progress: you can't mark "I have these items". For wardrobe tracking, use FFXIV Collect.

Item availability can change: old builds may have items no longer obtainable (rotation seasonal events that passed). EC flags this but not always accurately.

Western build culture dominant: although there are JP/EU users, most builds reflect Western tastes. The Japanese FFXIV fashion scene has its own communities.

How to get started

  1. Go to ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com. No login required to browse.

  2. Filter by your job/race/gender. Browse top-voted builds.

  3. When you see one you like, click for detail. Note the items list.

  4. Verify if you have access to the items (some require raid clear, others craft, others market).

  5. For tracking: optionally register and "favorite" builds. Build your wishlist.

  6. If interested in posting: take your screenshots with good lighting (gpose is your friend) and share. The community values aesthetics more than technical perfection.

  7. To complement your workflow: use EC for discovery, FFXIV Collect for your progress, Garland Tools for technical item lookup.
