What it is
Battle Chronicle is HoYoverse's official public profile feature for Genshin Impact, accessible through HoYoLAB. It shows the characters you've unlocked with their equipped weapons, artifacts, talents, and constellations, plus your most recent Spiral Abyss runs, exploration stats per region, and general account progress (active days, achievements, monsters defeated).
It's completely free and only requires having your HoYoLAB profile linked to your Genshin account (something you've probably already done if you claim daily check-in). Data updates automatically as you play — no need to upload screenshots or configure anything.
What problem it solves
Sharing your progress or build with other players is a recurring need in Genshin: when you ask for help in Spiral Abyss, when you want someone to review your build, when coordinating a Discord server for co-op, or simply when you want to show a friend what characters you have.
Before Battle Chronicle, this was done with screenshots or community tools like Enka.Network — which require the other player to install or understand another platform. Battle Chronicle solves this with a unique HoYoLAB link anyone can open from web without login.
Differentiation vs Enka.Network
Enka.Network is the most popular community alternative and has real advantages: cleaner visual showcase, comparison with top player builds, integration with damage calculation tools. Battle Chronicle, in contrast, shows ALL your characters, not just the 8 in your in-game showcase. If you have 60 characters, Battle Chronicle lists them all with their builds — Enka only shows the 8 you put in the in-game showcase.
Recommendation: use Battle Chronicle when someone wants to see your whole account (typical "show me what you have"), Enka when you want to highlight specific optimized builds.
What people use it for
Sharing complete builds: someone asks "how do you have Furina built?" and you send the Battle Chronicle link. The other person sees the exact artifacts, weapon, talents, and constellations without needing to ask.
Showing Spiral Abyss runs: each Abyss cycle is recorded with which teams you used and which floors you cleared. Useful for discussing strategies or asking for tips on how to improve your clear.
Coordinating co-op: if you're going to do raids or farming in group, others can see in advance which characters you have available and plan the squad.
Personal progress tracking: viewing your exploration stats per region shows which zones you have at 100% and which ones you're missing. Useful for planning achievement runs.
Verifying progress for guilds or community events: some Discord servers require certain progress (e.g., AR55+, certain achievements) to access certain channels. Battle Chronicle is the official proof.
Who this isn't for
If you only want to showcase 1-2 optimized builds with strong visual focus and detailed comparison to top players, Enka.Network offers a better experience. If you want to analyze your build's damage, Akasha System gives you rankings and simulations Battle Chronicle doesn't.
How it's used in practice
Go to HoYoLAB.com and log in with your account.
Make sure your Genshin account is linked to HoYoLAB (Settings → Linked Accounts if not).
Go to your profile in HoYoLAB and enable "Battle Chronicle Public" in privacy settings. Without this, the link doesn't work for other users.
Share your profile link (format:
act.hoyolab.com/app/community-game-records-sea/...?game_id=2).For recurring use (e.g., asking for help in Discord): pin your link in your notes so you don't have to search it every time.
Honest limitations
Requires explicitly enabling privacy. By default, your Battle Chronicle is private. You have to go to settings and allow public view. Many users don't realize this and share links that don't work.
No comparison with other players. Only shows your account, with no context of "this build is top 5%" or "this DPS is average." For that you need Akasha or Enka.
Updates can be delayed. In-game changes (equipping new artifact, raising constellation) take minutes to hours to reflect in Battle Chronicle. It's not real-time.
No damage calculations included. Shows what you have equipped but doesn't calculate DPS, crit ratio, or team synergies. It's only for showing, not analyzing.
Design can feel heavy. HoYoLAB's interface has a lot of info on screen, and on mobile it feels cramped. For serious analysis, community dashboards are better optimized.
Bias toward HoYoverse ecosystem retention. It's official, so it constantly invites you to other HoYoLAB sections (forums, events, other HoYoverse games). It's not invasive but it's there.
How to get started
Go to HoYoLAB.com with your linked Genshin account. Go to Settings → Privacy and enable "Battle Chronicle visible to everyone" (or equivalent). Then in your profile go to "Battle Chronicle" → select Genshin Impact → your dashboard appears.
The shareable link is in the "Share" button at the top right. Copy it and send it to whoever wants to see your account. The other person doesn't need a HoYoLAB account to view it.
Recommendation: take 5 minutes to review what Battle Chronicle shows of your account before sharing it. Old Spiral Abyss runs are sometimes embarrassing when you first activate it.
