The Rust toolkit

The six tools that cover a Rust wipe — pick a server, preview the map, design your base, check raid costs, and the official companion. The stack for starting a wipe with an edge.

Rust is played in wipes: each server periodically resets progress, and the first days define the whole playthrough. Picking the right server, knowing the map, raising a defensible base, and understanding raid costs aren't details, they're the difference between thriving and dying naked on the beach. The game gives you none of it. This six-tool stack covers the full wipe.

Before the wipe

Preparation starts with picking where to play. Just Wiped lets you find servers by wipe schedule, filtering by size, region, and reset time. BattleMetrics complements it with server and player tracking: historical population, player search, and live status, useful for evaluating a server or following someone. And before joining, RustMaps shows you the server map by seed —monuments, resources, and routes— so you plan where to settle.

During the wipe

Once in, Fortify lets you design your base and plan defense or raids before spending resources building blindly on the server. For combat and economy decisions, RustLab is the reference: crafting, loot tables, and raid costs, so you know what it costs to break a wall or what's worth it. And Rust+, the official app, connects you from your phone with smart device alarms, the server map, and messaging.

Why these six

Each covers a part of the wipe:

  • Picking a server → Just Wiped + BattleMetrics
  • Previewing the map → RustMaps
  • Base design → Fortify
  • Costs and crafting → RustLab
  • Companion → Rust+

You don't need all six to survive, but together they're what separates a planned wipe from an improvised one. Each tool has its full analysis in the codex.
